Trama:
La sera di capodanno Troy, che è un campione di basket, e Gabriella, che è un genio di chimica, si incontrano a una festa. Entrambi vengono scelti per cantare "Start of Something New" al karaoke. Una volta terminata l'esibizione, straordinariamente di successo, si scambiano i numeri di telefono, con la speranza di rincontrarsi... infatti il loro desiderio si avvera....
